You see, it is not only the food stamp program that is exploding. 2 million Americans received food stamps in March, which represented a 21 percent increase from a year earlier. 40 million Americans on food stamps. Department of Agriculture is projecting that more than 43 million Americans will be on food stamps by the end of 2011. For example, nearly 51 million Americans received $672 billion in Social Security benefits in 2009.
